The Gigot Center for Entrepreneurship strives to create learning experiences that build entrepreneurial confidence in our students.  Our approach blends a real world emphasis with flexibility and choice to enable students to craft learning experiences that best fit their interests and aspirations.  Highlights of our entrepreneurship curriculum are as follows:

  • An integrated emphasis on the value of foresight, innovation, and entrepreneurship as potent capabilities in the quest to leverage business as a force for good in the world
  • World class faculty with direct experience in innovation, product development, and start-ups
  • An integrated curricular path that culminates with a capstone course where students develop a plan for a business venture in a flipped-classroom setting, pitching their progress each week to a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs
  • A keen recognition of the importance of immersive learning and a strong pipeline of opportunities for students to embed with practitioners from our network to gain first-hand exposure to real-world entrepreneurial experiences
  • A flexible approach that enables students to focus their energy pursuing their passion along one of four learning tracks:
    • Start-Up Track (“I want to start a business”)
    • Venture Capital Investing Track (“I want to invest in many start-ups”)
    •  Intrapreneurship Track (“I want to lead the innovation team of a large enterprise”)
    • Social Entrepreneurship Track (“I want to lead a social enterprise”)
  • Direct exposure to and interaction with our extensive Irish Entrepreneurs Network
  • A direct synthesis between the academic programming and the McCloskey Business Plan Competition to challenge students to develop a bias towards action and contribute to the development of their own entrepreneurial confidence
The curriculum of the Gigot enter serves both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Undergraduate Minor in Entrepreneurship
  • MBA Concentration in Innovation & Entrepreneurship
