Internships bridge the gap between theory and reality: they enhance classroom learning by integrating academic curriculum and real-world work experience. Internships are a key component of our program, and the benefits of internships are enormous. They provide the opportunity to gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience that you simply can’t get in the classroom. Internships also provide excellent networking opportunities for students as they explore next steps, providing a chance to test their entrepreneurial interests while developing their long-range career plans. Finally, internships enhance the student’s marketability by providing on-the-job training in an entrepreneurial setting.
Eight- to ten-week summer internships allow students to apply what they have learned in the classroom in a real-world entrepreneurial setting. Graduate and undergraduate students can further their understanding of the complexities and challenges of entrepreneurial ventures. Students will work closely with the Gigot Center and with Career Services to identify these internship opportunities.
Limited funding is available to support these internships. Host organizations are expected to provide compensation as well, when possible.
