The Ideas Challenge is an exciting PITCH event for aspiring student entrepreneurs at Notre Dame. Come prepared with a 60-second “pitch” to explain your new business venture – whether an amazing new scientific or engineering technology, service, or product that will impact lives – all ideas are welcome! No need to register, simply show up, sign up, and pitch your business idea in 60 seconds. The best ideas are determined by audience vote – you decide our winners! Prizes include cash awards, Apple watches, Amazon Echo Speakers, Instax cameras, gift cards and much more. Open to ALL current undergraduate and graduate students! Don’t have an idea? Come simply to listen. You will be inspired!

ND Entrepreneurship Boot Camp
Strengthen your entrepreneurial muscles at the ND Entrepreneurship Boot Camp!
Open to ALL current Notre Dame students, the boot camp is a GREAT opportunity to explore the world of innovation and startups. Bring a business idea to pitch or simply come to learn: we’ll explore the pathway for startups from idea to launch. Learn about the concept of human centered design as a means to understanding problems and exploring solutions that may lead to successful businesses. McCloskey Business Plan Competition

Turn your ideas into profitable business solutions that make a difference – and compete to win more than $200,000 in cash and prizes!
Do you have an idea for a new product, service or technology? If so, you are the perfect candidate for the McCloskey Business Plan Competition! Tremendous resources are made available through the Competition including mentors, networking, extensive feedback and business planning software. We will surround you with resources to help set you up for success, as you build your idea into a profitable business solution!!
The deadline to enter is late October – initial requirements include a simple 2-page overview of your proposed new business idea, and an optional video pitch explaining your concept. Here’s a quick summary of the McCloskey process:
- Round 1: Submit a simple 2-page overview of your concept – we provide the outline. An optional 2-minute video pitch is encouraged as well. Those advancing to round 2 are announced in late November.
- Round 2: Work with an experienced mentor to understand the business model and write a transitional 10-page business plan. Those advancing to the semifinal round are announced in March.Round 2 Public Summaries
- Semifinal and Final Rounds: 20 semifinalist teams will present LIVE on campus in April before a distinguished panel of judges: semifinalist teams will pitch their ventures in the morning and 8 finalists will advance to the finals in the afternoon.
- Final Event: Finalists present to the public in the Jordan Auditorium in the Mendoza College of Business. Awards totaling more than $200,000 in cash and prizes will be announced at the conclusion of the final event!
